A group of hikers have discovered an "invisible cave" that is hidden well inside a forest near the village of Borka, Slovakia. The cave that is yet unmapped and only known to a very few local people, is situated on a 300 metre tall mountaintop near the well visited canyon called Zadielska Tiesnava. The cave that the group of 3 have discovered during their tour is so well disguised in the forest that is very difficult to spot even to those who know or have been told about it. The cave, that must have been created by the flow of the water through the ground must be hundreds of years old. Some of the local people told the explorning group that during the Second World War it was used as a hideway from the enemy. Many locals have climbed upon the hill and hid away deep inside this beautiful cave. This kept them alive.
The photographer - Robert Nemeti and his two fellow hikers - Tibor Balint and Silvia Kaplar were brave enough to walk inside the cave. "It has a very narrow entry that is literally invisible. Once we got through the entrance, there was another 20 metres of very tight passage then the place opened up. It was an amazing yet very scary view inside" - said the brave hiker, Tibor Balint.
The hikers used a long plastic line to keep them on the right track on the way back. It took them around 1 hour to climb inside the cave, take these stunnig photos and climb out. The inner side of the cave is very complex, so the hikers only got into the first big room, they did not climb deeper as they run out of the line. It would have been difficult to find the way out without it so they did not take any chances. The details inside the cave are very beautiful and fragile. They did not touch or brake any of the dripstones but they have returned with an amazing set of photos.
